About Us
My name is Diana. I live with my partner Julian, our 11 year old Labrador DJ and 9 year old Labrador Retriever Donny!
​
We are based in the picturesque dog friendly village of Hallaton, with the beautiful rural Leicestershire and Rutland countryside on our doorstep, perfect for Yappy Tail walkies!!
I grew up with a variety of animals from hamsters to goats, but dogs have always had a special place in my heart! It was my love of dogs that led me to become an Approved Puppy Socialiser and Foster Carer for Medical Detection Dogs (MDD), a charity that train specialist dogs to detect life-threatening medical conditions.

Our very own Donny started life training to be a Medical Alert Dog. We met him a few times during his training days and he instantly stole our hearts with his handsome face and mischievious ways. When we heard he didn't quite make the programme, we immediately applied to adopt him. Our application was successful and he quickly settled in to become the fourth member of the Yappy Tails Pack.

From organising fundraising events and delivering talks to help raise awareness for MDD's to running my own puppy training classes and studying for various canine courses, I quickly realised that every spare moment I had was dedicated to my passion, dogs! So in the summer of 2014 I decided to work in the field I love and Yappy Tails Dog Services was created!

Services and Prices
Every pet and owner is unique! This is why at Yappy Tails Dog Services we always arrange a Meet & Greet, for free,
ahead of any services being carried out.
This is a great opportunity to discuss your requirements and learn about any special preferences, favourite treats, tricks, toys and tickle spots!
This not only helps me to get to know your precious pet, but it also allows them to become familiar with me, so they feel comfortable in my care.

DOG WALKING
1 hour small group dog walk with carefully matched dogs.
1-2-1 walks on request.
Lead walks only unless written consent is obtained for off-lead exercise and only after I have built a bond with your dog and I'm confident with their recall.
All walks Include collection/drop off, fresh water re-fill and a towel rub down
(if required)
Your pooch will be left content and settled.

HOME FROM HOME
A 5* cosy countryside retreat for your four-legged friend!
​
Enjoying companionship, walks in the countryside, lots of fuss, relaxation and mental stimulation. They will have their own room to sleep in at The Yappy Tails Cottage and will spend their holiday with us and our resident Labradors.
​
We have a large secure garden for them to enjoy but if they want some space they can relax in the enclosed Paw Patch.

FAMILIARISATION AND TRIAL SESSION
​Familiarisation and trial sessions are essential to ensure the health, safety, and emotional well-being of your dog/s in their new environment.
Prior to your dog/s coming to stay with us at The Yappy Tails Cottage for their holiday, we require them to spend a one night trial with us and our resident dogs.
This will help your dog become familiar with me, our resident dogs and our home ahead of their holiday!
​
These sessions also allow us to evaluate their behaviour, personality and compatibility with the surroundings and other dogs and to assess if they are suitable for Home Boarding aiding a stress-free experience for your dog/s, the resident dogs, myself and you!

You can book as many of these overnight sessions as you like, to give you extra peace of mind that your dog will be settled, happy, relaxed and content while in our care.
​
Please Note: At least one Trial and Familiarisation Session is required for all dogs prior to boarding as a requirement of my Home Boarding Licence conditions set by Harborough District Council

Double rates apply on all Bank Holidays including Easter, Christmas Eve/Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve/Day

Operational hours are between
8.30am & 6pm.

** Dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations, flea and worming treatment and in good health.
A copy of your dogs up to date vaccination record will be requested prior to any services taking place
​
** If your pet does not like to socialise
with other dogs please inform us and we can advise.

Dad recently had a spell in hospital and although he is recovering well he could not look after his 14 year old Yorkshire terrier Tiny.
Tiny is blind, deaf, has no teeth!! and on medication for a heart condition.
On meeting Diana, I was immediately drawn to her warm caring nature. Diana was asked to walk Tiny twice a day, feed him and give him is daily medication.
Not only did she build a great rapport with Tiny, she got on very well with dad. I would highly recommend Diana.

It can be hard to juggle family and work commitments with pets. I hate to leave my three dogs unattended and when I was invited to a family wedding some way away I knew I could rely on Diana to keep my girls happy.
